Texas Tech, Society of Environmental Journalists Host Green Car Show
Members of the Texas Tech University community will have a chance to experience the latest in environmentally friendly automobiles in mid-October when auto manufacturers bring some of their newest technology to Lubbock. Among the vehicles for display and test-driving will be General Motors’ Chevy Volt, Nissan’s LEAF and Volkswagen’s e-Golf.

The cars will be on exhibit at the 22nd Annual Conference of the Society of Environmental Journalists (SEJ). This journalists’ gathering, hosted by Texas Tech University, will take place Oct. 17 to Oct. 21 at the Overton Hotel and Conference Center.

The media and the Texas Tech community, especially students and professors of engineering, environmental studies, journalism, business and other related courses are invited to attend and see the latest innovations.

When:
5-9 p.m. Thursday (Oct. 18)
7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday (Oct. 19)
7:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 20)

The Overton Hotel & Conference Center is located at 2322 Mac Davis Lane. Attendees should come to the parking area just outside the main entrance to the conference center.
This event is co-sponsored locally by Texas Tech’s Office of the President, Office of the Provost, Office of the Vice President for Research, Cotton Inc., Bayer CropScience, Syngenta, Prosperity Bank, Lubbock Economic Development Alliance, High Plains Underground Water Conservation District, Plains Capital Bank, Lubbock National Bank, Texas Tech South Central Climate Center and United Sorghum Checkoff Program.
