Come watch Around the World in 80 Days (1956, 175min, G) starring David Niven at the Museum of Texas Tech, Friday, April 17 from 2-5pm

Eccentric London inventor and adventurer, Phileas Fogg, has a bet with members of his gentlemen's club that he can make it around the world in a mere 80 days, using a variety of means of transportation like boats, trains, balloons, elephants, etc.

The term "cameo," meaning in this case a small part by a famous person, was popularized by the many "cameo appearances" in this film that included Frank Sinatra, Charles Boyer, Peter Lorre, Red Skeleton, and Edward R. Murrow.

The film won Oscars for best picture and film editing.
