The Women’s Studies Program examines the cultural and social construction of gender, explores the history, experiences and contributions of women to society, and studies the influences of gender on the lives of women and men.
If you are interested in adding to your critical thinking skills and focusing on a career that intersects multiple perspectives of diversity, our program will be a good addition to your academic plan.

What will the class cover?
The experience of growing older is often overlooked when studying gender diversity. It is assumed by many that women experience feelings of isolation and invisibility when reaching later life because of negative stereotypes and changes in the aging body. But this is only part of the story because later life can be a time of fulfillment, growth and joy. The course will explore the experiences of aging in women and men in the 21st century society, including focusing on the social meanings of the aging body, intersections of age, gender, race and class and changing roles and well-being for women and men.
