Students will travel to New Orleans where they will work with Project Homecoming to help rebuild homes for survivors of Hurricane Katrina. No skills or training are needed. If you are someone who likes to help, serve, learn, and have fun then we would love to have you. Project Homecoming also provides programming for groups in the evenings. Participants will learn about New Orleans, nearby wetlands and coastlines, and have a tour of a bayou. Also a traditional jambalaya cookout will be prepared where volunteers, staff, and homeowners come together to exchange their stories. This Service Break trip is a great way for TTU students to get involved with a community that has been hit by a devastating disaster.

Purpose:
The purpose of the CALUE Service Breaks program is to allow TTU students to work together to assist communities across the United States and internationally through service and engagement activities.
The CALUE Service Breaks program offers weekend and week-long service experiences for students and faculty, held during the fall and spring semesters.
By engaging students in hands-on, experiential service, the program allows students to appreciate the impact they can have on communities and foster a commitment to life-long active citizenship.
Be a part of this life changing experience.
