¿Estás listo? Casi es El día de Independencia de México.

Join us to celebrate 205 years of Mexico's Independence!

Individuals are encouraged to wear verde, blanco y rojo and when the clock strikes 11pm, we will shout with excitement Viva Mexico! This event is free and open to the community.

About El Grito:

El Grito, or “the Cry”, represents one of the most iconic Mexican civic celebrations. It recalls the moment in which father Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, a parish priest in the village of Dolores ringed the bell of the parish on the morning of September 16th 1810 and called Mexicans to rise against the Spanish crown and fight for Independence.

Most individuals will be celebrating El Grito de Independencia on the 15th, and Día de Independencia on September 16th. September 15th is actually Independence Day for Honduras, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Nicaragua. It also starts the month long Hispanic Heritage month in the United States which runs until October 15th.
