Mortar Board is an honor society of individuals selected for distinguished ability and achievement in scholarship, leadership and service. The Texas Tech Forum Chapter was founded in 1927 and believes in recognizing excellence in all aspects of career excellence.
Omicron Delta Kappa is a 100-year old national leadership honor society that has initiated more than 300,000 members since its founding. The Society recognizes not only academic achievement but also campus leadership across the five phases of campus life: scholarship; athletics; campus or community service; social or religious activities; campus government; journalism, speech and the Mass Media; and creative and performing arts.
For 35 years, the Faculty Recognition Award from ODK and Mortar Board is the only award at Texas Tech University where students nominate the professors they believe go above and beyond the classroom to inspire their students. Professors are the backbone for the academic experience. Students recognize those professors that help them throughout their careers at Texas Tech and beyond.
