The anxiety of being removed from your home can be overwhelming, but is the reality for numerous children in the Lubbock community every year. Making the situation worse is the loss of many comforts of home as these children watch their few possessions be placed into a black garbage bag so that they can be moved to your foster home with you.
Raiders Helping Others members are collecting new or gently used luggage (of any size), duffle bags, backpacks, and drawstring backpacks that will be given to children as they are removed from their homes. Donated items will be given to The Children's Home of Lubbock so that children will be able to place items into their own luggage before being placed in foster care.
Items can be donated in marked bins in any residence hall lobby, or donors may arrange an on-campus pick up of donated items by emailing whitney.shaffer@ttu.edu.
Donation drive runs from now until Monday, November 30th.
