The Marsha Sharp Center is currently looking for academic coaches for the Fall 2016 semester. The MSC is an on-campus academic and tutoring center that operates Monday-Thursday from 8:00am-10:00pm, Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm, and on Sunday from 5:00-9:00pm during the Fall semester. Within that time frame, academic coaches are given the ability to designate when they would like to be available for work, with some guidance from MSC Staff. As a student employee, the maximum an academic coach can work is 20 hours/week. This a position that could carry on into future semesters.
Academic Coaches serve as an extension of an Academic Advisor. They meet one-on-one with students to assist them with keeping an up to date planner/calendar of assignments, track grades, and create weekly objectives. Each meeting is once a week for 30 minutes.
Qualifications:
1. GPA of 3.0
2. At least a sophomore credit-wise
3. Strong Interpersonal Skills
4. Extensive knowledge and understanding of the course material
5. Available for required training
