Physics 5300: New and Renewable Sustainable Energy

This course is designed to investigate and appreciate the scientific and engineering as well as non-engineering aspects of production, supply, delivery and end use of energy with a critical view for senior and graduate students of today and professionals of tomorrow.  Since this is going to have immense implication for public policy and for future of the biosphere, with special reference to the controversial global warming due to the anthropogenic CO2 and nuclear waste, this course will prepare Tech students to meet those challenges.

This course may include but not limited to: Fossil, solar, wind ocean, geo, hydrogen, nuclear, and some of their integrated approach will be covered.  The current journal articles and conference proceedings will be used as a source.

Students with graduate and senior standing from disciplines like Architecture, Biological Sciences, Business, Engineering, Geosciences, Human Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, Sciences and various other departments of Arts and Humanities will benefit from this course.

The course grade will be determined from class interaction, quizzes, final and a term paper presentation.
