Libraries announces end of service for Remote Access 3D Lab effective Aug. 22

The TTU Libraries announces the end of service for the Remote Access 3D Lab (RA3DLab), effective Aug. 22, 2016.  We are making this announcement in advance of the decommission date so that all  RA3DLab remote users can plan for this change.

The RA3DLab is a Citrix XenDesktop virtualization system that provides any eRaider access to 3D hardware accelerated applications on their own devices, from anywhere in the world.  Begun in early 2010, this data center-hosted hardware has reached end of life and due to the relatively small number of users, is being decommissioned rather than replaced.

If you are a RA3DLab user or work with students who access the RA3DLab, please plan for this change.  The physical 3D Animation Lab in the Library's Digital Media Studio on the second floor east will remain in operation and is open whenever the Library is open.  The same software is available in the 3D Animation Lab as in the RA3DLab, but the lab must be visited in person and is not available for remote access.
