Are you a smoker who might consider being in a research project?
Details: 
What is this project about? 
We would like to learn whether the meditation/relaxation training changes brain circuits and physiology involved in smoking addiction. 

You can be in this study if: 
1. You are the TTU student with smoking history, with normal or corrected vision and no history of health problems.
2. You have not used illegal drugs or illicit substances. 

This study will involve: 
1. Simple questionnaires; Non-invasive brain imaging and physiology session. 
2. 10 consecutive nights Meditation/Relaxation training (30 min per session) 
3. Participants receive $200 payment for their participation. Payment will be made after completion of the study. 
4. Your participation and data are maintained in a confidential manner. 
5. Brain imaging (fMRI) is a non-invasive magnetic resonance imaging process, a safe and routine technique in clinic and research, more on website http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Functional_magnetic_resonance_imaging 

This study has been approved by the Protection of Human Subjects Committee at Texas Tech University (IRB #505397)
