Experience Plains Indian Cultures (Summer I)
Are you interested in learning about Native American cultures? If so, enroll in ANTH 4640 Field School in Cultural Anthropology. This is a six credit-hour course designed to introduce students to the methods used to collect and analyze ethnographic data in a hands-on field setting, while providing a unique cross-cultural experience. The course will take place over the span of four weeks in Oklahoma. The field school will be working closely with the Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma to assist with cultural preservation and heritage documentation initiatives. Students will receive instruction in interviewing, participant observation, digital audio recording, and data analysis. In addition, students will have the opportunity to experience Kiowa culture through lectures, field trips, and interactions with community members.
