Research Participants Needed!

Open to all students and area residents, just need to be right-handed and have corrected-to-normal or normal hearing and vision and have no history of epilepsy (due to visual occlusion goggles used in some parts of the research; please see below).

This study, called “Multifrequency Coordination in Dyads and Teams”, requires pairs of participants to perform a series of experimental trials in which they move their index fingers up and down while the rest of their hand is curled around a hand rest.  The arm is also resting on a table and the participants are sitting at either end of the table across from each other, so the task is not particularly physically demanding.  Participants will wear earphones that play beeps and vision occlusion goggles that strobe during some parts of the research.

The study requires participants to perform in three one-hour sessions over three consecutive days.  At the conclusion of the study, each participant will be paid $30.  In compliance with the Texas Tech University Operating Policy, all participants must fill out a Recipient Information Form, which includes social security number, to receive payment.  All participants must provide written consent to participate in this research.

To schedule participation or to obtain further details, please contact Christie Gipson (christie.gipson@ttu.edu) in the Department of Psychological Sciences.
