Though school may have just let out, Texas Tech University and the Office of Community Engagement are proud to announce the return of the annual Back to School Fiesta which will be hosted on Saturday, August 8th, 2015.
The success of Back to School Fiesta is in large part due to our amazing volunteers and community support. Our volunteers fill various roles, everything from preparing backpacks to working various aspects the day of the event. This year our target goal is to have 100 volunteers from the community.
Every year Back to School Fiesta is able to provide families in Lubbock and the surrounding communities with the opportunity to visit a real college campus, and start their new school year off on a positive. There are free resources to help families get their students prepared for the upcoming academic year, free backpacks with school supplies, and free lunch. Last year we saw more than 4,000 visitors to our event and we hope to have even bigger numbers this year.
