New Elective Available for Fall: The Modern Media Business
Google. Twitter. Oculus Rift. Wearables. Binge Viewing. The “Internet of Things.” We know these as media innovations that have affected our daily lives, but these companies, products and trends have also significantly disrupted the media industry as we know it. Students planning to enter this world as professionals need to be armed with the latest information and insights. This course will explore the ins and outs of the exciting modern media industry and related fields. We’ll examine media economics, management, strategies and innovations in TV, film, print, music, radio, gaming, digital and social media, public relations, advertising and analytic fields.
