Years ago, women of color were not allowed to serve on the homecoming court at Texas Tech University. The black community at Texas Tech then created their own annual pageant titled "Miss Black TTU." Over the years, the pageant was discontinued but this fall will mark the return of the pageant as a reminder of our history and where we came from. The purpose of Miss Black TTU is to infuse diversity here at Texas Tech University. The nominated Miss Black TTU 2015 will represent the black community within the homecoming royal court of Fall 2016.
