Students interested in a 4-week Study Abroad Program in Italy are encouraged to contact Dr. Thomas Cimarusti. The course, entitled Music and Culture in Modernizing Italy, examines the culture and civilization that helped shape Italy's rich musical traditions. Join us as we stroll the streets of Rome, Florence, Venice, and Naples examining musical masterpieces from the Renaissance to the 20th century! Course includes tickets to at least 5 concerts (including an opera and a private performance of Italian folk music) as well as excursions to the Sistine Chapel, the Coliseum, the beautiful island of Capri, and much more!
Space is limited to 10 students. Program dates are tentatively set for June 7 - 28 (during Summer I 2016). Course fulfills CVPA Fine Arts Requirement, Multicultural Requirement, AND Engineering Study Abroad Experience. ALL ARE WELCOME; NO MUSIC EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!
