OLLI Presents "Doctor's Best Teachers Are His Patients" Feb. 18 at 2:00pm

Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) presents "A Doctor's Best Teachers Are Often His Patients" on Feb. 18th from 2:00-3:30pm.

Ever wonder what it’s like to practice medicine and how this impacts a physician’s development? Attend this course and hear remarkable patient stories of grace, grit, and dignity. These captivating tales will reveal the drama of medicine – its mystery, pathos, heroism, sacrifice, and humor. We will take a behind-the-curtain peek at medicine today with all its dramatic changes and emphasize the continued need for individualized and compassionate care. This course will consist of lecture mixed with selected excerpts from Carrying the Black Bag: A Neurologist’s Bedside Tales. On completing this course, the participant will have gained valuable insights in coping with illness – your loved one’s or your own.
